Some plants are drama queens: miss one day of water and they droop like they’re writing a tragedy. Others are surprisingly chill and actually prefer the soil to dry out a bit between drinks. If you mix them randomly, watering becomes confusing. You either overwater the tough ones or underwater the thirsty ones.
By grouping plants with similar water needs together — all the thirsty ones in one zone, drought-tolerant ones in another — your daily routine gets simpler. When you go out with the watering can, you know “this corner gets water every day” and “that corner only every few days.”
It also reduces mistakes. You’re less likely to drown succulents because they’re sitting right next to a water-loving fern you’re pampering daily. Grouping by care needs, not just by looks, makes the garden easier to manage and keeps plants healthier.
