A lot of people say, “I wish I spent more time in my balcony or garden,” but then never actually sit there. One simple reason: there’s nowhere comfortable to sit. If you only have pots and nothing else, you walk in, water the plants, and walk straight back out.
Putting even one simple chair among the plants changes the script. Suddenly, it’s not just a “task area,” it’s a place to pause. You might take your tea out one day, then your phone call the next, then maybe just sit for five minutes and breathe.
The chair doesn’t need to be fancy outdoor furniture. A basic metal or plastic chair, or even a sturdy stool, is enough. The important thing is its position: tucked slightly between pots, near greenery, where you feel surrounded, not separate.
Once that seat is there, you’ll find little excuses to use it — quick breaks, thinking time, watching rain. Slowly, the garden becomes part of your daily routine instead of just a background project.
