Keeping a basic record—“Waterproofing done on this date, this area; leak patch near stairwell last year; photo of condition before and after”—gives future decisions a solid base. When a new problem appears, you can see what was tried before, how long it lasted, and whether a different approach is needed.
It also helps when comparing contractor quotes. You’re not starting from zero each time; you have a small “medical file” of the roof’s past.
