Showroom samples usually look perfect: clean, evenly lit, untouched. Real life is different—spills, muddy shoes, kids’ art experiments, food drops.
If you can get a sample piece, try a simple test at home: wipe it with a damp cloth, drop a bit of coloured liquid (like tea or coffee) and see how easily it cleans off. Notice whether the surface shows water marks, dull patches or streaks after basic wiping.
This doesn’t replace proper technical specs, but it gives you a practical sense of how forgiving the finish is. Some glossy surfaces show every mark; some matte ones hide a lot. Knowing this upfront helps you choose something that matches your tolerance for maintenance.
